With the sale of our book Moments of Connection we have helped small non-profit animal organisations make a big difference in the lives of animals.

Black Saturday Recovery Project

The Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria in February, 2009 were among Australia’s worst natural disasters. The fires killed 173 people and countless animals. They annihilated entire communities and destroyed hundreds of thousands of hectares, which provided habitat for hundreds of animal species, many of them endangered. See how we helped organisations below.

Dog Rehoming Project

On the domestic animal front, we’re particularly passionate about helping shelter animals. We feel strongly that the destruction of more than 250,000 perfectly healthy animals a year in Australia is unacceptable. It’s inhuman, needless and it must stop.

So, our primary ongoing project for the next three years is implementing programs and strategies to benefit shelter animals, we have called this our Dog Rehoming Project.

Our Dog Rehoming Project aims to:
• reduce euthanasia rates
• reduce stress on animals in shelters
• create alternative adoption points
• increase rehoming success
• create standardised practices
• make shelter adoptions a positive experience

As prevention is better than cure, we’ll also support programs that eliminate cruel and mass breeding of dogs.
